Safety at Waterwings

Fun is central to Water Wings Swim School. We do not expect everyone to become an Olympic swimmer.

We want everyone to leave us being safe and confident around water.

We incorporate water safety awards into our 'Elite Squad' award scheme. The squads are also given the option of attending the pool twice yearly to learn CPR with a trained RLSS Assessor.

Before the summer holidays we incorporate 'get safe for summer' into all the lesson plans, which Children really enjoy. We display posters and educate children on the dangers of the sea, canals, reservoirs, lakes and swimming pools.  The children may carry out mock rescues and practice shouting for help, which is great noisy fun. We also hand out our own personal fun quiz sheets for the children to colour.

CRB – Our staff are CRB cleared

Child Protection - We have a strict child protection policy.

We have a photography policy for parents and guardians, this is displayed on our pool notice board and in the Parent Information hand out sheet. You will be asked to sign a registration card stating you have read and understand the policy when joining Water Wings.

Our child protection officer is Melanie Lang.

Health & Safety - We have first aid policies and all accidents and incidents are reported and logged.

Emergency Action Plan & Normal Operating Procedure – We have policies in place at the pool.
